<br />MAY 2 1 1990 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />11286 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT, D. ROBERT STIFF, PRESIDENT <br />OF CANADA COLLEGE, 1983-1990 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Bob Stiff has announced his retirement after seven <br />illustrious years as President of Canada College and an accomplished and <br />satisfying career in the field of education; and <br />WHEREAS, Bob Stiff, an English and music major at San Francisco State, <br />began his remarkable educational journey at Hillsdale High School in San <br />Mateo in 1956, continued on to Mills High School, College of San Mateo, <br />Canada College, San Mateo County Community College District and on to the <br />presidency of Canada College in 1983; and <br />WHEREAS, a love of teaching and quality education guided Bob Stiff <br />throughout his career and provided his students and colleagues with <br />education at its best in the classroom and the boardroom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Bob Stiff, devoted family man, accomplished musician, avid <br />tennis player, President of the Redwood City Rotary Club, and most <br />respected educator and adminstrator, has shown through words and deeds that <br /> <br />education makes dreams come true for students and teachers; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGI LA BERGE, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> <br />CITY, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, do hereby express our deep <br /> <br />appreciation to D.
