5. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR - <br />Laura Fanucchi, HIP Housing Program Director, presented the Council with the 2006 <br />calendar that resulted from the annual calendar contest for students in grades K -5. <br />Children draw pictures of their homes and what state what their homes mean to them. <br />This year the schools in Redwood City were selected to participate in the contest. Out <br />of approximately 500 participants only 12 winners can be chosen. She read <br />statements of two of the Redwood City winners. She thanked the City Council for all <br />the support throughout the year. <br />M/S Ira /Aguirre to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by <br />title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. The motion <br />passed by a unanimous roll call vote with Council Member Howard abstaining, <br />due to her absence, on approval of the November 14, 2005 minutes. <br />5.1 Section — Motions <br />A. Approve the Joint City Council, Redevelopment Agency, and Public Financing <br />Authority meeting minutes of November 14, 2005 and the Regular City Council <br />meeting minutes of November 28, 2005, as submitted; (301) <br />MINUTE ORDER 05 -236 <br />B. Second amendment to the Joint Powers Agreement for Participation in the San <br />Mateo County Narcotics Task Force <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve the Second Amendment to the Joint Powers Agreement Establishing the <br />San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force (304) MINUTE ORDER 05 -237 <br />C. Purchase of Portable Communications Radios through FEMA grant. <br />Recommendation: <br />That the City Council, pursuant to RWC 2.76 suspend by motion Article VII of <br />Chapter 2 of the Municipal Code and permit purchase of 35 Motorola Radios <br />through the awarded FEMA grant No. EMW- 2003 -FG- 17279, under the <br />cooperative purchasing agreement of the Western States Contracting Alliance, <br />contract #02702.
