<br />DES:djJr 06/07/ 6 <br /> <br />(002/47) <br /> <br />of the Charter of the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />provided, <br /> <br />that all Basic Services shall be of the s me general <br /> <br />category or character as those furnished by <br /> <br />substantially different, or required at <br /> <br /> <br />ttorneyor <br /> <br />his staff prior to the date hereof, <br /> <br />not be <br /> <br />her volume <br /> <br />or in a greater amount, than pertained <br /> <br />services <br /> <br />furnished by Attorney and his staff prior <br /> <br />0 the date <br /> <br />hereo f . <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />SPECIAL SERVICES. <br /> <br />Attorney shall provide <br /> <br />hrough his <br /> <br />own services and those of such members or associates of his law <br /> <br />firm as <br /> <br />he <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />determine, <br /> <br />upon <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />authorization <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />City's <br /> <br />Councilor City Manager, such legal services as may be desired or <br /> <br />required by City, and not within the scope of the Bas'c Services <br /> <br />hereinabove <br /> <br />described. <br /> <br />Said <br /> <br />services <br /> <br />(the <br /> <br />"Special <br /> <br />Services" ) <br /> <br />may include: <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />Conducting <br /> <br />land <br /> <br />acquisition <br /> <br />negotiations <br /> <br />nd <br /> <br />eminent <br /> <br />domain <br /> <br />proceedings, <br /> <br />prosecuting <br /> <br />or <br /> <br />defend'ng <br /> <br />inverse <br /> <br />condemnation actions, prosecuting litigatio <br /> <br />which the <br /> <br />City may desire or need to institute, or 0 herwise to <br /> <br />which City elects to be a party, defending litigation <br /> <br />instituted <br /> <br />against <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />conducti g <br /> <br />extended <br /> <br />prosecutions of offenses against ordinances <br /> <br />f the City <br /> <br />proce <br /> <br /> <br />including <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />offenses <br /> <br />against <br /> <br />laws <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />State, <br /> <br />activities <br /> <br />preliminary <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />any <br /> <br />such <br /> <br />but <br /> <br />excluding services related to prosecutions <br /> <br />f offenses <br /> <br />furnished as Basic Services; <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />Representing City in litigation and/or arbi ration, or <br /> <br />other <br /> <br />judicial <br /> <br />proceedings, <br /> <br />including <br /> <br />activities <br /> <br />4 <br />
