<br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2005 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Yapp, Vice Chairperson Morton, <br />Commissioners Joseph, Slusser, Swope, Truscelli and White <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Joel Sargent <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Director Corinne Centeno, Superintendent Gary Hover, <br />Administrative Assistant Denise Monroe <br /> <br />Chairperson Yapp called the regular meeting of the Park and Recreation <br />Commission to order at 7:32pm in Room 2 of the Community Activities <br />Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope asked that a correction be made to the October <br />minutes under Community Garden, second sentence. The minutes should <br />read: “One community garden is being planned behind the NFL Alumni <br />Building which will include eight garden beds. The Teen and Youth Advisory <br />Boards, senior groups and our Accessible Recreation Program will participate <br />in planting and maintaining the garden beds.” The minutes of the October <br />26 meeting were approved as corrected. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />There was no correspondence. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 – APPROVAL OF FLEISHMAN PARK PLANS <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover stated that a public meeting was held on November 16 <br />to review the plans of the Fleishman Park renovation. The mailing for the <br />public meeting was sent to over 100 addresses, with six people attending the <br />meeting. Chairperson Yapp and Commissioner Slusser attended the meeting <br />and both commented on the positive responses they heard from the meeting <br />attendees. <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover reviewed the proposed plans with the Commissioners <br />and announced the project will go out to bid in January. The construction <br />will begin in March or April and will take 90 days to complete. <br /> <br />M/S Swope/Truscelli: To approve the Fleishman Park plans as <br />presented. <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />
