<br />:ø- ðJ' <br /> <br />06/0612005 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14648 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY ADOPTING WATER ENTERPRISE GUIDING PRINCIPLES AND <br />RESCINDING ALL PRIOR ADOPTED PRINCIPLES, AS THOSE <br />PRINCIPLES MAY HAVE BEEN AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in August 1993, the City Council adopted Guiding Principles for the <br />City's Water Enterprise (the "1993 Guiding Principles"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the 1993 Guiding Principles have been reviewed by the City Council <br />Utilities Committee (the .Committee") and the Committee recommends revisions to the <br />1993 Guiding Principles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Committee's revisions to the 1993 Guiding Principles reflect <br />more accurately the policy intent of the City Council, as that intent has evolved and <br />changed since they were first adopted and since 200112002, when the Council set three <br />broad City priorities related to water supply: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the order and wording of the seven 1993 Guilding Principles have <br />been amended by the Committee to reflect more precisely the stewardship <br />commitments and fiscal expectations associated with the City's long-term water supply: <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this City Council has expressed their commitment to water <br />conservation and maintenance of the City's infrastructure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the City Council desires to amend the 1993 Guiding Principles as <br />recommended by the Committee. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY THAT: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />The Redwood City Water Enterprise Guiding Principles attached hereto as <br />Exhibit" A" are hereby adopted. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />The 1993 Guiding Principles, as may have been amended from time to time, are <br />hereby rescinded in their entirety. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />This Resolution will go into effect upon adoption. <br /> <br />* * * <br /> <br />Atty/Reso/Reso.1543 <br />060105 <br /> <br />14648 <br />Muff # 802 <br />
