<br />ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE XV, SECTION 18.253 TO CHAPTER 18 OF THE <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO EXEMPTIONS AND <br />CREDITS TO THE TRANSPORTATION IMPACT FEES FOR USES EXCEPT <br />PROFESSIONAL, MEDICAL, BUSINESS AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE USES <br />WITHIN A CERTAIN DEFINED DOWNTOWN AREA <br /> <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present. <br />MINUTE ORDER 06-14 <br /> <br />10. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 48-2005 and 49-2005. Council may direct staff to act <br />on positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus <br />available in City Clerk's Department.) <br /> <br />B. Oral Report: Bair Island Restoration - Levees - Report by Council Public <br />Land Access Committee <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Rosanne Foust gave the update beginning with the background then <br />stating that the expectation for the EIS is that it will be published and the 45-day <br />comment period completed within the next 1-2 months. She stated that within the <br />Federal Administration, it appears there is a definite shifting of priorities reflected <br />in the budgets. She further stated that two activities identified in a restructuring <br />plan for the future are Wildlife and Habitat Management are most closely <br />associated with Redwood City's long term plan. She further explained the <br />renegotiation of the contract with Buzz Fawcett at a lower rate. She explained that <br />over the next 10 months the expectations are that the EIS is published as quickly <br />as possible and work with the local Congressional delegation for support to <br />request the Appropriations Committee find funding. She further explained the <br />details of the goals for the next several months. <br /> <br />Council Members commended the Committee and requested a quarterly report be <br />submitted while commenting on accomplishments thus far and for the future. <br /> <br />C. Mayor Pierce - stated the desire to enhance community outreach and <br />involvement by possibly utilizing the mechanisms for notifying voters on a pilot <br />program basis. She also stated that over the holidays, she was impressed with the <br />Department Head involvement at the Emergency Operations Center and directed <br />residents to the website for further information on preparedness. She also thanked <br />the signers and collectors of the petitions submitted in December.
