6.3.C. - Page 17 <br />463 Brewster Street <br />Suite 4 <br />Redwood City, Ca. 94063 <br />2018 July 4th Independence Day Celebration <br />Event Summary <br />The Peninsula Celebration Association (PCA) is requesting a special events permit to conduct the <br />80th annual Independence Day Celebration in Redwood City on July 4, 2018. The activities to be <br />conducted by the PCA will be: <br />The annual Invitational Parade starting at 10:00 am. <br />The parade is produced for entertainment purposes and may include decorated floats, <br />marching bands, drill teams, vintage and/or municipal vehicles, equestrian units, civic <br />officials, invited guests, participating sponsors, and other entries as approved by the PCA. <br />As the parade organizers, the PCA may, at their discretion, limit the types and number of <br />entries participating in the parade. <br />The annual Arts and Crafts Festival will be from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on July 4th with <br />setup beginning at 4:00 PM on July 3rd. <br />The Festival may include: <br />The sale of hand-crafted items offered by vendors selected by an independent <br />coordinator. The sale of food and beverages offered by a combination of selected <br />commercial vendors and local community service organizations. <br />A concert provided by college bands that participated in the parade. <br />A children's entertainment area with a stage and seating area. <br />General information booths provided by parade sponsors, contributors, and <br />community service groups. <br />A viewing area for selected vehicles and floats that participated in the parade. <br />The following activities will be conducted by other organizations: <br />The annual Parade Run organized and coordinated by the Redwood City Education <br />Foundation (RCEF) will be held from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and utilize the parade route. The <br />Parade Run will also include a post -race expo on Warren between Marshall and Fuller. <br />The expo will provide a "cool down" area for runners and space for race sponsor <br />information booths. The PCA will request portable toilets be placed in parking spaces on <br />Warren and Bradford for use by the runners. RCEF will reimburse the PCA for the cost of <br />the additional toilets.
