Uniform type, style, colors, and any modifications <br />2887 may be subject to approval by the Agency. <br />2888 8.07 HAZARDOUS WASTE INSPECTION AND HANDLING <br />2889 A. Inspection Program and Training. Contractor is required to inspect Solid Waste, <br />2890 Targeted Recyclable Materials, Organic Materials, and other materials put out for <br />2891 Collection and may reject Solid Waste, Targeted Recyclable Materials, Organic <br />2892 Materials, and other materials observed to be contaminated with Hazardous Waste <br />2893 and not Collect Hazardous Waste put out with Solid Waste, Targeted Recyclable <br />2894 Materials, and Organic Materials. Contractor shall develop a load inspection <br />2895 program that includes the following components: (i) personnel and training; (ii) load <br />2896 checking activities; (iii) management of wastes; and (iv) record keeping and <br />2897 emergency procedures. <br />2898 <br />Contractor's load checking personnel, including its Collection vehicle drivers, shall <br />2899 <br />be trained in: (i) the effects of Hazardous Substances on human health and the <br />2900 <br />environment; (ii) identification of prohibited materials; and (iii) emergency <br />2901 <br />notification and response procedures. Collection vehicle drivers shall inspect <br />2902 <br />Containers before Collection when practical. <br />2903 <br />B. Response to Hazardous Waste Identified During Collection. Under no <br />2904 <br />circumstances shall Contractor's employees knowingly Collect Hazardous Waste or <br />2905 <br />remove unsafe or poorly containerized Hazardous Waste from a Collection <br />2906 <br />Container. If Contractor determines that material placed in any Container for <br />2907 <br />Collection is Hazardous Waste or other material that may not legally be accepted or <br />2908 <br />safely processed at the Designated Transfer and Processing Facility or presents a <br />2909 <br />hazard to Contractor's employees, or those at the Designated Transfer and <br />2910 <br />Processing Facility, the Contractor shall have the right to refuse to accept such <br />2911 <br />material. The Generator shall be contacted by the Contractor and requested to <br />2912 <br />arrange proper Disposal. If the Generator cannot be reached immediately, the <br />2913 <br />Contractor shall, before leaving the Premises, leave a non -collection notice, which <br />2914 <br />indicates the reason for refusing to Collect the material and lists the phone number <br />2915 <br />for the San Mateo County Household Hazardous Waste Facility, or other resources <br />2916 <br />as directed by Agency. Contractor's environmental technician shall be notified to <br />2917 <br />handle the issue with the Generator. The Contractor's environmental technician <br />2918 <br />shall be required to guide the Generator to safely containerizing the Hazardous <br />2919 <br />Waste and shall explain the Generator's options for proper disposition of such <br />2920 <br />material. <br />2921 <br />If Hazardous Waste is found in a Collection Container or Collection area that could <br />2922 <br />possibly result in imminent danger to people or property, the Contractor shall <br />2923 <br />immediately notify the Agency's Fire Department using the nine -one -one (911) <br />2924 <br />emergency telephone number. The Contractor shall notify the Agency of any <br />2925 <br />Hazardous Waste identified in Containers or left at any Premises within twenty-four <br />2926 <br />(24) hours of identification of such material. <br />2927 <br />C. Response to Hazardous Waste Identified at Designated Transfer and <br />2928 <br />Processing Facility. Contractor shall not knowingly deliver Unpermitted Material to <br />2929 <br />the Designated Transfer and Processing Facility.
