~' ]F¢~' AGREEMENT BETWEEN COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, <br /> THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br /> DISTRICT (Redwood City Family Centers) <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, entered into this day of ,2002, by <br /> and between the COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, a political subdivision of the State of California, <br /> hereinafter called "County," the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation of the State of <br /> California, hereinafter called "City", and the REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br /> DISTRICT, hereinafter called "District"; all of which entities are referred to collectively as the <br /> "Parties". <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the Parties enter into an agreement to establish <br /> the Redwood City Family Centers to provide coordination and administrative support to interagency <br /> school based family resoume centers at Taft, Fair Oaks and Hoover Schools, which provide human <br /> services, health services, educational support and community development activities to a community of <br /> 2000 residents. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, 1N CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL COVENANTS AND <br /> CONDITIONS CONTAINED HEREIN, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. Purpose <br /> <br /> The Parties are entering into this Agreement for the sole purpose of providing assistance to and <br /> allowing the establishment of the Redwood City Family Centers. The Redwood City Family <br /> Centers exists for six major purposes to: <br /> <br /> a. Increase the academic achievement and access to educational opportunities for <br /> the families. <br /> b. Contribute to an improved sense of well being and to develop skills to assist <br /> neighborhood families and their children to cope with life stressors. <br /> c. Improve the physical health of the communities served. <br /> d. Secure the participation of members of the community in the implementation of <br /> neighborhood improvement efforts. <br /> e. Improve neighborhood safety. <br /> f. Provide child abuse and neglect prevention services <br /> <br /> 2. Term <br /> <br /> This agreement shall be binding on the Parties upon execution of this Agreement by all Parties. <br /> This agreement shall be effective July 1, 2002 and shall continue in effect through June 30, <br /> 2003. <br /> <br /> <br />
