SAN FRANCISCO'S NEIGHBORHOOD I SPAP

March 13, 2002

Patricia S. Howe, CMC
City Clerk
1017 Middlefield Road
Redwood City, CA 94064

Dear Ms. Howe:

Subject: Bids for Designation of the Redwood City Official Newspaper

Please find enclosed 4 sets of copies of The Redwood City Tribune's bid for the
Designation of Official Newspaper for Redwood City. Please note that each bid packet
includes:
1. A completed copy of the Bid Form.
2. Typed copy of the Bid information.
3. Three examples of Public Notice ads.
4. A copy of the Adjudication for the Redwood City Tribune.
5. An example of an ad in both six-point and eight-point type.

Since the bid is based on a "per column inch" rate, the size of the type does not affect the
rate but does affect the "total cost" of the ad. In these two examples, the six-point type
version would be billed 9 column inches and the eight-point type version would be billed
16 column inches. We currently use six-point type for our Public Notices but eight-point
type is available if that is what you prefer.

Sincerely,

Wayne E.
