REPORT T° the H°n°rable May°r and City C°unc'l I <br /> <br /> From the City Manager J <br /> <br />August 26, 2002 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Approval of the Master Agreement and Program Supplement No. 001-M with the Department <br />Of Transportation for the Transportation Enhancement Activity (TEA) Grant for the Redwood <br />Shores Bike Path Improvement Project. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Adopt a resolution approving the Master Agreement and Program Supplement No. 001-M for <br />Federal Aid Project No. 04-5029 with the Department of Transportation to participate in the <br />2001-2002 Bike Path Improvement Project. <br /> <br />Background <br />The Department of Transportation, Caltrans, acts as the lead agency for administering federally- <br />aided highway projects in California. Federal funds were made available to various cities for <br />installing bicycle and pedestrian facilities under the TEA. <br /> <br />On December 10, 2001, the City Council approved the design concept of 8' wide multi-use <br />pathways on Redwood Shores and Bridge Parkways. On July 15, 2002, the City Council <br />approved the contract documents, and authorized advertisements for bids for the 2001-2002 <br />Bike Path Improvement Project. <br /> <br />The plans and specifications associated with this TEA Grant have been approved by the State, <br />and expenditure of the Federal TEA Grant monies have been authorized in the amount of <br />$195,000.
