REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br /> <br />June 25, 2018 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Amendment No. 5 to the Agreement with Management Partners, Inc. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 5 to the <br />agreement between the City of Redwood City (City), and Management Partners, <br />Incorporated, for consulting services pertaining to the land exchange and acquisition of <br />structured parking spaces with the County of San Mateo and increasing the contract <br />value by an amount to exceed $20,000, resulting in an aggregate agreement amount <br />not to exceed $129,500 <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />In July 2015, the City entered into a professional services agreement with Management <br />Partners, Inc., to provide the City with project management assistance, including <br />managing the City-owned parcels and properties, implementing the Community Benefits <br />ordinance, facilitation of Council offsite meetings and coordination of services related to <br />Docktown Marina. The agreement has been amended four times in the last three years <br />to revise the scope of work, and a fifth amendment is recommended to make changes <br />to the scope of work and provide for additional funding. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Management Partners, Inc., has assisted the City with several projects over the last <br />several years. The original amount of the agreement was $59,500, and the City Council <br />authorized an increase of $50,000 in October 2016. <br /> <br />Staff seeks City Council approval of Amendment No. 5 in the amount of $20,000, so <br />that Management Partners can provide project management services related to land <br />exchange and acquisition of structured parking spaces, with the County of San Mateo. <br />With Amendment No. 5, the total agreement cost would be $129,500. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The Council may elect not to authorize the City Manager to execute the amendment <br />and direct staff to develop another approach to providing these services. <br />6.1.F. - Page 1
