Page 1 of 2 <br />ATTY/RESO.0067/CC RESO CONSOLIDATE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br />REV: 06-20-18 RL <br /> ATTACHMENT 2 <br /> <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. ____ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO CONSOLIDATE A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2018, WITH THE CONSOLIDATED MUNICIPAL, SCHOOL AND SPECIAL DISTRICT ELECTION; AND REQUESTING COUNTY TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO CITY; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE COUNTY FOR SUCH SERVICES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City called a General <br />Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, for the purpose of the <br />electing of three (3) full time Members of the City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that the General Municipal Election be consolidated with <br />the Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election to be held on the same <br />date and that within the City the precincts, polling places and election officers of the two <br />elections be the same, and that the county election department of the County of San <br />Mateo canvass the returns of the General Municipal Election and that the election be held <br />in all respects as if there were only one election; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to perform such service, the County requires that the City <br />enter into a contract specifying the services to be performed. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That pursuant to the requirements of California Elections Code § 10403, the Board <br />of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo is hereby requested to consent and agree to <br />the consolidation of a General Municipal Election with the Consolidated Municipal, School <br />and Special District election on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, for the purpose of electing <br />of three (3) City Council Members for the term of office of four years each; and that the <br />County Election Department is requested to render services to the City related to the <br />conduct of the election. <br /> <br />2. That the consolidated election will be held and conducted in the manner prescribed <br />in California Elections Code § 10418. <br /> <br />3. That pursuant to California Elections Code §10002, the City requests that the <br />Board of Supervisors permit the County Elections Official to render services as specified <br />in the County Services Agreement relating to the conduct of the Election. <br /> <br />6.3.E. - Page 8
