Consolidated Plan REDWOOD CITY 113
OMB Control No: 2506-0117 (exp. 06/30/2018)
As reflected more extensively in the HOUSING section, the City’s leadership and commitment to developing affordable housing is strong and will
continue to be a focus to help lift residents from poverty by providing a safe, attractive and affordable place to live. The provision of housing
alone doesn't eliminate poverty, but the basic need of decent shelter must be met before people can strive for self-sufficiency.
Through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) public services funding, the City provides grants to local nonprofit agencies that
provide services that address the core needs of the community and assist clients in developing greater self-sufficiency with the goal of breaking
the cycle of poverty. This program affords the City the opportunity to coordinate with service agencies to address the community needs in a
more comprehensive manner.
6.3.F. - Page 125
