Office of the City Manager tUJ Page 1 MEMORANDUM DATE: January 31 , 2006 TO: City Council FROM: Ed Everett, City Manager cc: Executive Team RE: Materials for Priority Setting Session In preparation for your Priority Setting Session on Feb. 6th, I would like to provide you with some information that I think may be helpful to you as you reflect and consider setting the Council priorities for the next two years. First, you will find a memo and the results of the two community input meetings we hosted this year. The meetings were very successful and I think you will find the comments and voting very interesting. Secondly, you will see the comments provided on a recent survey we sent to all PACT and Community Building graduates. The purpose of the survey was to get an idea of the level and type of involvement. While we will share the results of the entire survey with you at a later time, I feel that the comments on the question: "What one thing in the community of Redwood City are you most passionate about, that is most important to you, or that you most care about?" will be helpful to you during this process. Although asked slightly different than at our community input sessions, I think the question still gets to what is important or what is a priority to the community. Finally, for your reference, I am including a copy of Council's current priorities. I am also including a document from our amended 2005/2006 budget document that listed the projects and programs we are working on to meet those priorities.
