Walsh <br /> · Alexander Graf <br /> <br /> M/S Ruskin/Howard to appoint the three applicants, Honey Carpe, Alexander Graf <br /> and Marie D. Walsh by acclamation. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote. <br /> MINUTE ORDER 02-228 <br /> <br /> 12. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br /> 12. A. Legislation (information only) This sub-section involves possible <br /> discussion of City Position on Proposed Legislation Described in the League of <br /> California Cities Priority Focus Bulletin No. 27-2002 and No. 28-2002. Council may <br /> direct staff to act on positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities <br /> Priority Focus available in City Clerk's Department). <br /> <br /> 12.B. Resolution of Support - Redwood City Ferry Service (Council Member <br /> Howard) (309) <br /> <br /> Council Member Howard stated that this was a request for a resolution of <br /> support to place Redwood City ferry service and the regional water transit <br /> service into the mix of projects supported by the $1.00 increase on the State <br />-- owned bridges. She further stated that the Bay Area Water Transit Authority is <br /> about to bring their environmental and operation review to the Legislature in <br /> December 2002. Council Member Howard, as Chair of the Citizens Advisory <br /> Committee and Port Commissioner Dick Dodge of the Technical Advisory <br /> Committee have followed and worked with the WTA for approximately the last <br /> 18 months. She stated that the Senate Committee on Transportation will be <br /> asking groups to come up with projects for funding. Members of the <br /> Committee include SamTrans, the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, <br /> and MTC with Water Transit coming up as a priority. The Legislation will be <br /> completed in December and considered in 2003 by the Legislature with voters <br /> in seven counties voting on the proposal in 2004. <br /> <br /> M/S Ira/Pierce to adopt RESOLUTION 14460 IN SUPPORT OF FUNDING <br /> REDWOOD CITY FERRY SERVICE FROM A PORTION OF NEW REVENUES <br /> GENERATED BY $1.00 INCREASE IN STATE BRIDGE TOLLS <br /> <br /> The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br /> <br /> 13.
