defining features in the 1950s to 1970s during a time when the architectural aesthetic was very
different and there was little regard for preservation.
Property owners in an historic district can still modify, upgrade, re -configure their
buildings. They just have to preserve the outside elements that are determined to be character
defining features. By preserving an architectural aesthetic all of the buildings in the district will
likely increase in value without owners losing the flexibility to alter or upgrade their properties.
Designating the Mt. Carmel neighborhood an Historic District will be a big win for Redwood
City and I recommend you go forward with this plan as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Kaia Eakin
O Virus -free. www.avast.com
