AGREEMENT FOR LEGAL SERVICES <br /> A'I-FORNEY-CIIY FEE AGREEMENT <br /> <br /> This Agreement made on July 30, 2001, between the City of <br />Redwood City ("City"), and Francois X. Sorba ("Attorney") of 1611 Borel <br />Place, Suite 7, of San Mateo, State of California, 94402, telephone <br />number (650) 780-7202 and (650) 570-0566. This agreement will not take <br />effect, and Attorney will have no obligation to provide legal services, until <br />City returns a signed copy of this Agreement. <br /> <br /> City and Attorney hereby agree as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. City hereby retains Attorney in connection with special <br />assignments until such time as the new City Attorney assumes <br />responsibility for the legal work to be performed for the City, and City <br />determines that Attorney's services are no longer needed. <br /> <br /> 2. City shall pay to Attorney an hourly fee of One Hundred <br />Seventy-five and no/100 dollars ($175.00) per hour, as part of Attorney's <br />compensation. <br /> <br /> 3. Costs, disbursements, and reasonable personal expenses <br />incurred by Attorney in advancing City's cause are to be borne by City, <br />and paid by City in connection with this representation. Such expenses <br />include, but are not limited to, filing fees, document preparation and <br />copying, messenger and delivery fees, and other out-of-pocket expenses <br />of Attorney related to this representation. Facsimile transmittal is charged <br />at a rate of One Dollar ($1.00) per page. Attorney's photocopying expense <br />is at the rate of ten cents ($0.10) per copy. <br /> <br /> 4. Attorney will send City statements for fees and costs <br />incurred on a monthly basis. <br /> <br /> 5. City may discharge Attorney at any time. Nevertheless, <br />Attorney is entitled to his full fees plus related expenses and costs. <br /> <br /> 6. Any notices required under this Agreement shall be in writing <br />and shall be deemed to have been served only if delivered in person to <br />the party for whom they are intended, or if delivered, or sent by registered <br />or certified mail, to the business address of the person for whom they are <br />intended, as specified in this Agreement. <br /> <br /> 7. Attorney shall have access to City's legal files, records and <br />information needed in the performance of his representation. <br /> <br /> 8. Attorney carries errors and omissions insurance coverage <br />through Lawyer's Mutual Insurance Company. <br /> <br /> 9. This Agreement comprises the entire Agreement between <br />Attorney and City, and City acknowledges by signature below the receipt <br /> <br /> <br />
