<br />ATTY/CHARTER AMENDMENTS/2018/2018 FINAL CHARTER AMENDMENTS <br />REV: 07-18-18 VR <br />Page 17 of 45 <br /> <br />The cCity cClerk shall be the custodian of the cCity seal, and shall affix the same to all official <br />certificates made by said cClerk, and to all papers when directed by the cCouncil to attest to <br />execute the same. <br /> <br />The cClerk shall have power to administer oaths and affirmations, to take affidavits, and to certify <br />the same. The cClerk shall have other powers and perform such other duties as may be provided <br />by this cCharter or by statute or by ordinance or order of the cCity mManager. (As amended April <br />11, 1978, certified by Secretary of State June 12, 1978) <br /> <br />Section 33. CITY AUDITOR: <br /> <br />When deemed necessary by the cCouncil, it may appoint a cCity aAuditor. Prior to such <br />appointment, the duties of the city auditor may be performed by such other officers as may be <br />designated by the council. <br /> <br />The aAuditor shall have general control of all accounting for the cCity; he they shall receive and <br />preserve in his their office all account books, vouchers, documents and papers relating to accounts <br />and contracts of the cCity, its revenues, disbursements and other financial affairs. <br /> <br />They He shall keep an account of all moneys received and paid out by or through any other office, <br />commission, or department. He They shall prepare and submit to the cCouncil and cCity <br />mManager, as early as possible each month, and not later than the tenth day thereof, duplicate <br />summary statements of all revenue and expense for the preceding month, detailed as to <br />appropriations and funds, in such manner as to show the exact financial condition of the cCity <br />and each office, department, and division thereof, as of the last day of the preceding month. The <br />cCity cClerk shall furnish the cCity aAuditor with copies of all ordinances, resolutions, and orders <br />of the cCouncil making appropriations or authorizing expenditures of money for any purpose. <br />He They shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the general laws or by ordinance <br />of the cCouncil. <br /> <br />Section 34. CITY TREASURER: <br /> <br />There shall be a cCity tTreasurer, who shall be appointed by the cCity cCouncil. (As amended April <br />11, 1978, certified by Secretary of State June 12, 1978) <br /> <br />Section 35 CITY ASSESSOR: <br /> <br />There shall be a cCity aAssessor. Subject to the provisions of Section 53.5, as soon after the lien <br />date of each year as practicable, he they shall assess all taxable property within the cCity as of the <br />lien date; he they shall prepare all special assessments for public improvements, and give notice <br />of such assessments to property owners. They He shall verify the assessment list by his their oath <br />and deposit the same with the cCity cClerk on or before the first Monday in August of the year in <br />which such list is made.
