<br />A. District personnel shall cooperate with the School Resource Officer <br />and City to facilitate the performance of law enforcement services pursuant to <br />this Agreement and City's general law enforcement duties. <br /> <br />B. District will provide the School Resource Officer with an office, <br />desk, computer, and telephone (with voice mail). <br /> <br />C. When there is a need for emergency law enforcement assistance <br />the principal of Sequoia Union High School, or his/her designee, shall first call <br />911 and then notify the School Resource Officer. The School Resource Officer <br />shall respond as quickly as reasonably possible and provide further direction as <br />necessary. <br /> <br />D. The principal of Sequoia Union High School, or his/her designee, <br />shall be responsible for making non-emergency requests for law enforcement <br />services. Such requests shall be made directly to the School Resource Officer. <br />If the School Resource Officer is not available, the Dispatch Center at Redwood <br />City Police Department at 369-3331 may be contacted. <br /> <br />4. Supplemental Services. District or the School may request City to <br />provide additional law enforcement services for evening or weekend events such as <br />PTA meetings, Back-to-School Nights, Open House, athletic or performance events, <br />dances, proms, or other District-sponsored events. City shall use its best efforts to <br />provide the requested services by the School Resource Officer. District shall be <br />obligated to compensate City for such supplemental services, whether the school <br />resource officer or a patrol officer provides the services. <br /> <br />5. Compensation. The School Resource Officer shall be compensated by <br />the City. District shall compensate City for services provided under Paragraph 2 above <br />for the sum not-to-exceed $55,978.57. This amount is calculated as one half of the <br />officer's total salary and benefits for a nine-month period. City shall submit an invoice at <br />the end of the school year by May 31, 2006. Payment shall be made by District in one <br />(1) payment due on or before June 30, 2006. <br /> <br />6. Selection of School Resource Officer. The selection of the School <br />Resource Officer shall be at the sale discretion of City's Chief of Police. The Chief of <br />Police is encouraged to solicit input from District as to the School Resource Officer <br />selection. <br /> <br />7. Insurance - City. City will obtain and maintain for the duration of the <br />Agreement and any and all amendments, insurance coverage against claims for injuries <br />to persons or damage to property which may arise out of or in connection with <br />performance of the Services by City or City's agents, representatives, employees or <br />subcontractors. The City's insurance coverage will be through a joint powers insurance <br />authority risk-sharing pool organized and operated under the applicable laws of the <br />State of California. <br /> <br />Atty/Agr/2005.015PD <br />092905 <br /> <br />2 <br />
