6.1.G. - Page 1 REPORT To the Honorable Mayor and City Council From the City Manager August 27, 2018 SUBJECT Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Sandis Civil Engineers Surveyors Planners RECOMMENDATION By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreements with Sandis Civil Engineers Surveyors Planners for additional time and scope related to expansion of site survey for traffic calming measures as part of the Veterans Memorial Building/Senior Center -YMCA Project BACKGROUND On November 14, 2017, the City Council approved the Professional Design Agreement with ELS Architecture and Urban Design to develop the master plan for the Veterans Memorial Building/Senior Center -YMCA Project. On April 9, 2018, the City Manager approved a professional services agreement with Sandis Civil Engineers Surveyors Planners for the project area at Red Morton Park, in the amount of $57,825 following the City's purchasing ordinance selecting the lowest bidder from three proposals. Site survey work was then completed. On May 21, 2018, the City Council approved the Schematic Design for Project. ANALYSIS Through the public outreach process, residents expressed concern about traffic around the Project site area, specifically on Valota from Roosevelt to Jefferson, and on Madison from Valota to Hudson. Three traffic calming workshops were conducted, and neighbors agreed on the types of traffic -calming tools that would be useful on the identified surrounding streets. Two more traffic calming workshops are planned to finalize short term and long term solutions and cost estimates.
