6.1 J. Award of Contract — Alameda De Las Pulgas Sidewalk Improvement <br />Project <br />Staff contact: Omar Adina, Assistant Engineer 1 780-7337 oadina@redwoodcity.org <br />Recommendation: <br />By Motion: <br />1. Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the contract <br />documents for the Alameda De Las Pulgas Sidewalk Improvement <br />Project; reject the Non-responsive Apparent Low Bid of $345,000.00 from <br />Empire Engineering of San Francisco, California; and award the standard <br />form construction contract (Section 00520) to the second lowest <br />responsible bidder, RK Engineering of San Francisco, California, for their <br />Responsive and Responsible bid of $356,368.00; and, authorize the City <br />Manager to increase the contract amount, if necessary, up to 10% of the <br />original contract amount, not to exceed $392,004.80; and confirm <br />determination that the project is exempt and meets California <br />Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption criteria as set forth in <br />Section 15302 (Replacement or Reconstruction) of the CEQA <br />Regulations <br />2. Approve the associated Sidewalk Easements, and authorize the City <br />Manager to accept the Sidewalk Easements at 343, 353, 355, 357, 367, <br />and 391 Alameda De Las Pulgas, and execute the related Certificates of <br />Acceptance <br />K. 2018-2019 Extended Day Learning Services Agreement between the <br />City of Redwood City and the Redwood City School District <br />Staff contact: Christopher Beth, PRCS Director 780-7253 cbeth@redwoodcity.org <br />Recommendation: <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager or designee to execute <br />the 2018-2019 Extended Day Learning Services Agreement between the <br />City and the Redwood City School District <br />L.
