6.1.C. - Page 1 <br />REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />August 27, 2018 <br />SUBJECT <br />Agreement between City of Redwood City and Folger Graphics for Recreation Activity <br />Guide Printing Services <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement between <br />the City of Redwood City and Folger Graphics for Recreation Activity Guide printing <br />services <br />BACKGROUND <br />In order to advertise the wide variety of fee-based classes, sports leagues, senior and <br />human service programs, and special events offered by the City, the Parks, Recreation <br />and Community Services Department (PRCS) produces three activity guides per year <br />that are mailed to every Redwood City resident as well as to participant households <br />outside of the City limits. The existing agreement for printing services recently expired <br />and staff issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for printing services. With the assistance <br />of the City Clerk's Office, a notice inviting sealed bids were advertised in local <br />newspapers twice over a three week period. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The City received two bids by the advertised due date. Staff recommends that the <br />contract goes to Folger Graphics as the other bidder, Bay Area Graphics, submitted an <br />incomplete proposal. Folger Graphics has been providing printing services to the Parks, <br />Recreation and Community Services Department for the past several years, and staff <br />has been very pleased with Folger Graphics' professionalism, timeliness, and quality of <br />product. <br />Bidder Bid Amount <br />1.
