SHINNYO-EN FOUNDATION GRANT TO <br />REDWOOD CITY 2020 <br />FOR <br />"Stanford Public Interest Network (SPIN) Shinnyo Fellow" <br />Grant Goallsl�: <br />Goals and Objectives: <br />The SPIN Shinnyo Fellow will spend 70% of his/her time at RWC 2020 supporting the Redwood City <br />Together welcoming initiative, the family engagement and community mobilization teams, and the Big <br />Lift/Cradle-to-Career Pipeline of Success collaboration. <br />In addition to supporting initiatives at RWC 2020, the SPIN Shinnyo Fellow will spend about <br />30% of his/her time (2 days per week) at the Gardner Center at Stanford University. Based upon the <br />Fellow's interest, knowledge, expertise, and skills, he/she will be assigned to at least one active <br />research project and work with a multi -disciplinary staff (e.g., senior researchers, pol icy analysts). <br />Past SPIN Shinnyo Fellows have supported projects in areas such as broad -access colleges, food <br />insecurity, dropout prevention, and full-service community schools. <br />The Fellow's role and responsibilities include: <br />• Co -lead, with staff support, the Redwood City Together welcoming initiative, including <br />organization and facilitation of diverse dialogues with community organizations, youth <br />groups, and other collaborative partners, <br />• Program support for RWC 2020's Family Engagement program, "'Socios for Success" <br />• Program support for the Cradle -to-Career Pipeline of Success initiative, <br />• Provide research and administrative support to t he Gardner Center research and <br />evaluation projects, <br />• Link Gardner Center and Haas Center efforts to build capacity for Stanford service <br />learning opportunities in Redwood City, <br />• Serve as the point of contact and conduit for Shinnyo-en USA Head Temple and <br />Shinnyo-en Foundation. <br />*Any changes or adjustments to goals and objectives require prior approval by Shinnyo-en <br />Foundation.
