6. COUNCIL PRIORITY SETTING DISCUSSION <br />Council Members discussed and gave input as to process. Comments included the <br />need for priorities to be far reaching and to recognize that the services already being <br />touched are basic. It was stated that it would be helpful to receive an overview of last <br />year's priorities and the items pertaining to an action plan. The need to have a broader <br />context was stated. <br />Council Members discussed their meaning of prioritizing. Facilitator Reeves then <br />asked Council Members to list their three individual items that they feel would have the <br />most impact for the cost. The following Council Priorities were listed: <br />I. Doing Business Efficiently and Effectively <br />a. Community involvement/engagement/building <br />b. Code enforcement <br />c. Smart planning <br />d. Economic development — business /jobs /revenue <br />e. Aggressive pursuit of more funds /revenues <br />II. Traffic <br />a. Pedestrian /Bike advisory committee <br />b. Moving people downtown <br />c. Full -time neighborhood traffic position <br />d. Safety on Woodside Road <br />e. Intersection control at all Redwood City intersections <br />f. Shuttle buses <br />g. Design of pedestrian path and bike paths <br />h. Rail /ferry (future) <br />III. Fire <br />a. Restore Engine #9 <br />IV. Housing <br />a. Creative housing at all economic levels, including affordable housing <br />V. Public Safety Regarding the Downtown <br />VI. Investment in /Maintenance of City Infrastructure <br />a.
