City Manager <br /> <br />March 13, 2006 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Approval of legal services agreement with Liebert Cassidy and Whitmore for <br />representation and advice related to City personnel and labor matters. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Authorize the City Attorney to execute legal services agreement with Liebert, Cassidy <br />and Whitmore <br /> <br />Background <br />From time to time, the City Attorney's Office and the Human Resources Department <br />has required special legal services with respect to personnel and labor relations <br />matters. Such matters have, and in the future, may consist of advice regarding <br />memorandums of understanding, Public Employment Relations Board hearings, equal <br />employment opportunity requirements, personnel investigations, discipline, grievances <br />and litigation. Liebert, Cassidy and Whitmore has particularized knowledge and skill <br />with respect to public employment matters and is utilized by public agencies throughout <br />the State of California.
