Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Subrecipient will carry out each <br />activity in compliance with all federal laws and regulations described in Subpart K of the <br />Community Development Block Grant Regulations, except that: (i) Subrecipient does not <br />assume City's environmental responsibilities described at 24 CFR 570.604; and (ii) <br />Subrecipient does not assume City's responsibility for initiating the review process under <br />the provisions of 24 CFR part 52. <br />20. NON-DISCRIMINATION AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY. Subrecipient warrants <br />and agrees it will not discriminate against any persons seeking services or employment <br />under this agreement because of their age (except upon the basis of bona fide <br />occupational qualification, retirement plan or statutory requirement), disability, familial <br />status, race, color, religion, sex or national origin in the provision of services or extension <br />of employment opportunities under the Agreement. Subrecipient will include a statement that it is <br />an equal opportunity employer in all solicitations or advertisements for subcontractors or <br />employees. <br />21. INTEREST OF PUBLIC OFFICIALS. No covered persons who exercise any <br />function or responsibility with respect to this Agreement or Subrecipient's Project during <br />his or her tenure, or for one year thereafter, will have any interest, direct or indirect, in this <br />Agreement or a related subcontract, or the proceeds thereof.
