Page 1 of 1 <br />ATTY/RESO/2018/RESO.0092/CC RESO OKTOBERUN <br />REV: 09-27-18 VR <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING THE TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES FOR THE <br />REDWOOD CITY EDUCATION FOUNDATION’S 2018 OKTOBERUN <br />HALF MARATHON/5K RUN/WALK FUNDRAISER <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, because of the impact that special events have on City streets and <br />traffic when a full or partial street closure is required for such a special event, the City <br />Council of the City of Redwood City finds that it is crucial that any such routes be <br />thoroughly reviewed and analyzed to enable careful planning of such special events in <br />order to minimize impacts to the general public where such street closures are permitted; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21101(e) authorizes the City to <br />temporarily close a portion of any street for a local special event when the local authority <br />determines the closure is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to <br />use that portion of the street during the temporary closing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after thorough review, analysis, and planning the City Council does <br />hereby establish the following necessary partial street closures for the Redwood City <br />Education Foundation’s 2018 OktobeRun half marathon/5K run/walk fundraiser. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. On Saturday, October, 28th, 2018, Main Street, Marshall Street, Maple Street, <br />Veterans Boulevard, and Bair Island Road will be subject to temporary partial closures <br />between 7:00 am and 1:00 pm in order to allow the Redwood City Education Foundation’s <br />2018 OktobeRun half marathon/5K run/walk fundraiser event to occur. <br /> <br />* * * <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />6.3.A. - Page 4
