6.1.E. - Page 33 <br />METHODOLOGY <br />The Grand Jury reviewed health studies, scientific papers, government fact sheets and reports, national, <br />state, county, and city statistics, smoking ordinances of cities in San Mateo County, data on smoking <br />violations collected by city code and law enforcement officials, by-laws and other documents <br />pertaining to the County's Tobacco Prevention Program and Tobacco Education Coalition, state laws <br />covering smoking, and materials from the following organizations: California Apartment Association, <br />Executive Council of Homeowners, Breathe California, Tobacco Free CA, ChangeLab Solutions, <br />American Lung Association, and Americans for Nonsmokers' Rights. <br />The Grand Jury interviewed officials in the following cities: <br />Belmont <br />Brisbane <br />Daly City <br />Foster City <br />San Mateo <br />South San Francisco <br />In addition, the Grand Jury interviewed representatives of San Mateo County Health System, as well as <br />the nonprofit California Apartment Association. <br />2017-2018 San Mateo County Civil Grand Jury 19 <br />
