Leave the Broadway Mall Ordinance as-is. <br />2. Change some or all of the staff recommendations. Staff's main recommendation is that <br /> the subject ordinance be amended to reflect the need for full public control of <br /> Downtown sidewalks. These are spaces to be shared for the purpose of making <br /> Downtown a good pedestrian place (even if it means allowing sidewalk Cafe tables on <br /> the sidewalk fronting other non-restaurent business). <br /> <br /> Fiscal impact <br />The current Broadway Mall Ordinance charges a ten dollar fee for Sidewalk Caf~ permits. <br />This does not cover the City costs for issuance.
