LAW ENFORCEMrrJ iT <br /> <br /> Cit~/officials interested in obtaining law enforcement technolog~ gran~s funded in the recently passed state budget <br />need to submit reports to me State Depertment of Finance bj/ <br /> <br /> The program requirements were established by the 2001 Budget Act., which provided $35.4 million to Iocel law enforce- <br />merit agencies for the puroh~se of high technology grant equipment. <br /> <br /> The 2001 Budget Act also imposes reporting requirements. By accepting the funds provided in the Budget Act, Joc~l <br />entities agree to report in writing to Finance no Jater than August 1 B, 2002, or within two weeks after the.Budget Acc is <br />signed (S~pt~nll~r 19, 2~02), whichever is later. <br /> <br /> The report shall include, at a minimum, the following: <br /> <br /> 1. How funds received in 2001-02 were spent or, if funds have not been expended, how funds are proposed to be <br /> expended and when. <br /> 2. A description of the expenditures and how they will benefit public safer)/. <br /> 3. A summa~ of the public s~fety budget for the most recent )/ear availeble. <br /> 4. The signature of the county sheriff, or designee, cit~/police chief, or designee, or special districc edministr~tor, or <br /> designee. <br /> 5.
