COMPLAINTS ON BARKING DOGS <br /> <br /> 1. The CITY Police/COUNTY Sheriff,s Department of the <br /> jurisdiction in which the barking dog resides will respond to <br /> initial complaints concerning barking dogs. On the third <br /> response to the same animal'or address by the Police/Sheriff's <br /> Department, the Police/Sheriff's Department will forward a <br /> written report, on the established countywide Barking Dog <br /> Complaint Form, to COUNTY CONTRACTOR. <br /> <br /> 2. COUNTY CONTRACTOR will contact the animal owner(s) identified <br /> on the report via mail or telephone within 48 hours of <br /> receipt; and will appear at the residence within five days. <br /> COUNTY CONTRACTOR shall provide written documentation on any <br /> action taken to the reporting Police/Sheriff's Department. <br /> <br /> 3. Actions taken by COUNTY CONTRACTOR or CITY Police/ COUNTY <br /> Sheriff on a chronic barking complaint may include referral to <br /> mediation or issuance of a citation. Receipt and verification <br /> of a substantiated complaint regarding an animal or address <br /> three or more times shall constitute a chronic barking <br /> complaint. <br /> <br /> NOTE: As agreed, the COUNTY CONTRACTOR will provide the <br /> Police/Sheriff's departments with written material containing <br />-- suggestions on how to control barking in companion dogs. <br /> <br /> EXHIBIT C <br /> <br /> TREATMENT SERVICES <br /> <br /> TreaTment services shall be provided in accordance with Section <br /> 597.1 of the California State Penal Code. <br /> <br /> 17 <br /> <br /> <br />
