REPORT T° the H°n°rable May°r and .?itY C°uncil <br />- From the C~ty ManagerI <br /> <br /> September 23, 2002 <br /> <br /> Subject <br /> Execution of Funding Agreements for Human Services Financial Assistance Program <br /> (HSFA) 2002/2003 <br /> <br /> Recommendation <br /> Authorize the City Manager to execute the Human Services Financial Assistance Program <br /> agreements in the amounts specified in the 2002/2003 fiscal year approved budget. <br /> <br /> Background <br /> After reviewing each proposal and hearing Presentations from each of the applicants, on <br /> March 28th, the Housing and Human Concerns Committee recommended funding as <br /> follows. On August 5, Council approved these recommendations as a part of the entire <br /> general fund budget for FY 02-03. Agreements have been developed with each of the <br /> following agencies under the HSFA program: <br /> <br /> Big Brothers Big Sisters of SF and the Peninsula - Mentoring $ 4,000 <br /> for At- Risk Youth <br />- Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula $ 5,000 <br /> Casa de Redwood - Better Living for Seniors $ 7,500 <br /> Center for Domestic Violence Prevention - 24 Hr Crisis and $10,000 <br /> Support Line <br /> Center for the Independence of the DJsabled $ 8,000 <br /> Community Education Center $10,000 <br /> E] Centro de Libertad - Freedom Center $ 6,000 <br /> Ellipse - Peninsula AIDS Services Practical Support Program : $ 4,000 <br /> Family Connections $ 6,000 <br /> Family Service Agency-Senior Connections $10,000 <br /> Friends for Youth $ 6,000 <br /> Human Investment Project, Inc-Self-Sufficiency Program $12,000 <br /> International Institute of SF - San Mateo County Immigration, $17,000 <br /> Citizenship and Community Education <br /> Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County - $20,000 <br /> Homesavers/Homebuilders <br /> Mills Peninsula Senior Focus (RSVP) $ 3,500 <br /> Peninsula Family YMCA - FOCYS Family Group Program $ 3,000 <br /> · Rape Trauma Services - Sexual Assault Services $10,000 <br /> Salvation Army - Emergency Assistance Program $10,000 <br /> Samaritan House - Redwood Free Clinic $10,000 <br />_ ~ SMCo Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) - Rotating Shelter $ 5,000 <br /> and Day Center <br /> SMCo Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)- Transportation $15,000 <br /> <br /> <br />
