<br />APPENDIX 1 <br /> <br />UTILITIES AND SERVICE SYSTEMS <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />FEBRUARY 27, 2006 <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />This Scope of Services is presented in response to the request for proposal to provide technical <br />support services for a "stand alone" engineering report to support the initiatives of the City of <br />Redwood City in the renewal of its Downtown area. Nolte subscribes to the philosophy of <br />sustainable engineering and welcomes this opportunity to contribute to the efforts of the <br />community of Redwood City for its future. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />STUDY APPROACH <br /> <br />As per the direction provided during the pre-bid meeting, the tasks for the study are presented in <br />the order and work groups identified in the Scope of Services outlined in the Request for <br />Proposals. <br /> <br />TABLE 1 - OUTLINE OF TASKS <br /> <br />Task 1 Major Utilities Function Chapters <br />Task 2 Summary of Loading Criteria and Conditions <br />Task 3 Existing Computer Modeling Results <br />Task 4 Water System Analysis <br />Task 5 Sewer System Analysis <br />Task 6 Stormwater System Analysis <br />Task 7 Identify Impacts to Utility Systems <br />Task 8 Development of Alternative Solutions <br />Task 9 Recommendations for Mitigation of Impacts <br />Task 10 Meetings with Staff/ErR Consultant <br />Task 11 Prepare Responses to Public Comment <br />Task 12 Meetings with Planning Commission & City <br />Council <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />TASK DESCRIPTIONS <br /> <br />Task 1 - Major Utilities Function Chapters <br /> <br />In this task Nolte will prepare a comprehensive report for each of the major utilities outlines in <br />the Scope of Work. These include water, sewer, and storm water. Stormwater will include both <br />drainage in pipes and NPDES requirements. These chapters will be prepared after the <br />completion of the analyses of the major utilities as listed in the tasks below. <br /> <br />Task 2 - Summary of Loading Criteria and Conditions <br /> <br />For each utility system, the loading criteria will be summarized and presented in a tabulation <br />along with the various assumptions and design considerations.
