6.13. - Page 78 of 366 <br />14.17.5 Upon termination of employment an employee shall be paid cash value of his or <br />her accrued vacation leave at the time of the termination, in accordance with the <br />above schedule. <br />14.18 Illness During Vacation <br />14.18.1 An employee who commences a scheduled vacation period and subsequently <br />becomes ill before his or her vacation period has been completed shall be placed <br />on sick leave under the following conditions: <br />14.18.1.1 The employee otherwise has the requisite amount of accrued, <br />unused sick leave and otherwise qualifies for sick leave as <br />provided by this Agreement; and, <br />14.18.1.2 The employee, if no longer ill, returns to duty immediately <br />following the vacation period; and <br />14.18.1.3 The employee's illness is verified by a statement from an <br />licensed medical practitioner for each <br />such day of sick leave requested. <br />14.18.2 When the employee's vacation leave is converted to sick leave, the appropriate <br />credit of vacation leave shalt be restored to the employee's earned vacation <br />balance, and a reasonable opportunity to utilize this vacation leave credit shall be <br />provided within the si yLs-City's existing practices, <br />14.19 ReGo sized HalidaysHoliday Compensation for Employees assigned to a fort 40 <br />Hour workweek (Deputy Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, and 40 -hour Battalion Chief) <br />14.19.1 Full-time employees will receive eight (8) hours holiday pay per recognized <br />holiday.
