Design Principles - Streetscape FrontaiZe <br />Maintain a consistent streetscape frontage through design features such as placement and size of the <br />front entry, placement of the garage, width of the massing, front setbacks, and landscaping and trees. <br />Some design features to consider include: <br />• Garages - Accommodate garages <br />in locations similar to the pattern <br />common in the neighborhood. <br />• In neighborhoods which have a <br />strong pattern ofgarages located at <br />the rear of lots behind the house, <br />that pattern should be repeated. <br />• In neighborhoods where the garage is <br />not a prominent feature of the <br />house, provide additional stepbacks <br />from the front fagade so that the <br />garage is clearly secondary to the <br />house or consider a one -car garage. <br />• Home Width - Utilize floor plans <br />with narrow width at the front <br />where appropriate <br />• Front Entry - In neigghborhoods <br />where homes have a clear) defined <br />front entr the proposed Clearly <br />n <br />should also�ip design <br />orate a front <br />entry feature. <br />• Front entry features should be <br />compatible with the proposed <br />architectural style. <br />• Front entry features should be human <br />scale and not taller than the first floor <br />eave height. <br />• Landscaping- Maintain <br />landscaping pattern in the <br />neigPhborhood including tree size <br />ands ecies. <br />Redwood <br />Cityi-.L-ia <br />
