6.G. - Page 10 of 21 <br />HOMETOWN <br />HOLIDAYS <br />DOWNTOWN REDWOOD CITY <br />Saturday, December 1, 2oi8 <br />A Downtown Business Group Event <br />Event Summary <br />The Downtown Business Group (DBG) is requesting a special events permit to conduct the 13th Annual <br />Hometown Holidays Celebration in Redwood City on December 1, 2o18. The activities to be conducted by the <br />DBG are as follows: <br />• Snow Lots: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. <br />Two side-by-side lots located on Hamilton between Marshall and Broadway will offer children the <br />opportunity to play in manufactured snow. <br />• Food and Street Vendors: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. <br />- The sale of a variety of hand-crafted items offered by vendors, as approved by the DBG. <br />- The sale of food and beverages offered by a combination of selected commercial vendors and local <br />community service organizations. <br />- The sale of children's rides and entertainment offered by vendors, as approved by the DBG. <br />• Entertainment: to a.m. to 8 p.m. (with a break during parade and tree lighting venues) <br />Musical and dance entertainment provided by an array of performers and musicians, as approved by <br />the DBG. <br />• Santa's Photos: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. <br />Santa will be taking photos with children in the History Museum. <br />• Hometown Holiday Parade: 4:3oto 5:30 p.m. <br />The parade is produced for entertainment purposes and may included decorated floats, marching <br />bands, drill teams, vintage vehicles, invited guests and other children -friendly entries as approved by <br />the DBG. Over 1,200 participants are anticipated. <br />• Tree Lighting ting Ceremony: 5:45 P.m. <br />The annual tree lighting will take place on the corner Broadway and Hamilton. <br />Special Notes <br />* The snow lot on Hamilton will begin manufacturing snow at 5 a.m. <br />* The parade entries and local residents will enter the line-up area at Warren and Bradford. <br />* Parade sign -in will occur at 3 p.m. with the line-up occurring at 4 p.m. Line-up Map is attached. <br />* The parade will begin at 201 Marshall Street. All other streets in the line-up area will be closed <br />to vehicle traffic prior to parade. <br />* The Holiday Train will arrive at Sequoia Station at 6:10 p.m. The train is not affiliated with event. <br />
