A. Appointment to Housing and Human Concerns Committee - One vacancy (term expiring <br /> in 5/2002); (209) <br /> <br />...... A voice vote was taken with the following result: <br /> <br /> Denise Lewis - Council Members Hartnett, Howard, Ira, Pierce, Mayor Ruskin <br /> Chandy Philip - Council Member Jordan and Vice Mayor Claire <br /> <br /> Denise Lewis was selected to serve the term expiring in May of 2002. <br /> MINUTE ORDER 01-53 <br /> B. Legal Sub-Committee Report on City Attorney Replacement; <br /> <br /> Chairperson Hartnett of the Sub-Committee explained the findings of the sub-committee. <br /> The unanimous decision was to recommend to the full Council that they replace the <br /> existing contract City Attorney arrangement with an in-house City Attorney arrangement. <br /> <br /> M/S Howard./Ira to approve the recommendation of the Legal Sub-Committee. The motion <br /> passed by a unanimous voice vote. <br /> <br /> MINUTE ORDER 01-54 <br /> <br /> 9. STAFF REPORTS - <br /> <br /> A. Capital Improvement Program FY 2001-2002 First Study Session: <br /> <br /> Senior Civil Engineer Chang made the presentation and explained the status of projects. <br /> <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Pat Dixon asked about the proposed size of trees to be planted on El Camino. She also <br /> inquired about a substation of the post office to be located in Redwood Shores. <br /> <br /> The Council reviewed and provided input and feedback to staff regarding FY 2001-2002 <br /> Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Expenditures and Priorities. <br /> <br /> Recess: 9:20-9:35p. m. <br /> <br /> B. Solid Waste Collections Rate Increase; <br /> <br /> Financial Services Director Ponty stated that this is the first time in many years that the <br /> recommended rate increase is lower than the inflation rate in the Bay Area. <br /> <br /> M/S Hartnett/Claire to increase the rates by 5.3%, excluding the recycling portion, and <br /> adopt the resolution.
