6.13. - Page 19 of 45 <br />EXHIBIT "A-3" <br />PROPOSED AMENDED JOB DESCRIPTION <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />SENIOR ENDPOINT AND INFRASTRUCTURE INFORMATION <br />TECHNOLOGY ANALYST <br />DEFINITION: <br />To design, implement, and support Redwood City's technology infrastructure and end <br />points. <br />IT, a division of the Administrative Services Department, is divided into two teams: <br />Software Development, and Endpoint and Infrastructure. Software Development <br />primary responsibilities involve writing and supporting software that enables City staff <br />to deliver services more efficiently. Endpoint and Infrastructure is responsible for <br />infrastructure, desktop, and mobile devices used throughout the City including but not <br />limited to Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Servers, Data <br />Storage, Disaster Recovery, the City's phone system, and administrative support for <br />applications used throughout the City and/or specialized departmental applications. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS: <br />This is the journey level Endpoint and Infrastructure IT Analyst position and is filled <br />through the competitive testing process. The full range of duties listed below can be <br />performed in this job class. The incumbent is expected to function at a higher skill <br />level than the other analysts with a high degree of independence and judgment. The <br />incumbent is expected to be able to train other analysts as well as lead complex <br />technology projects including but not limited to assigning tasks to other Analysts <br />working on a project, as well as recommending and implementing solutions. This <br />senior position can serve as the acting Supervising IT Analyst of the Endpoint and <br />Infrastructure team within IT. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br />Immediate supervision is provided by the Supervising IT Analyst.
