MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST - <br /> <br /> Council Member Howard reminded the community of the Annual Spring Clean-up and free <br /> mulch giveaway on Saturday, May 12 at 8:30 a.m. She stated that the Public Works Yard on <br /> Broadway is the meeting place and a barbecue sponsored by the San Mateo County Credit <br /> Union will occur after the event. <br /> <br /> 9. STAFF REPORTS - <br /> <br /> A. Interim Water Shortage Allocation Plan; (802) <br /> Public Works Services Director Ingram introduced staff from the Bay Area Water Users <br /> Association Staff and other Public Works Services staff involved in the presentation. He <br /> stated that all 29-member agencies are targeted to adopt the plan by June. PWS Director <br /> Ingram began the review of the plan. <br /> <br /> BAWUA staff explained what the plan is, some of its main features, specific effects on <br /> Redwood City and the adoption process. <br /> <br /> Council comments included the concern that other agencies have not participated in <br /> conservation, and the need to investigate as a unified group the lobbying of legislators for <br /> assistance in building of facilities <br /> <br /> Public Works Services Superintendent Rosas explained the allocation process. <br /> <br /> Council Members expressed concern that the survey and allocation process be seen as <br /> voluntary. <br /> <br /> 8:30p. m. - Council Member Hartnett arrived at the dais <br /> <br /> Public Comment: <br /> <br /> Mark Moulton, Habitat for Humanity, stated that one of the tremendous pieces of <br /> topography in Redwood City is throughout the last 75 years the channeling of rainwater <br /> has occurred with asphalt paving and disposed.
