12/17/2018 <br />WHEREAS, On October 8, 2018, staff received an Award Letter from FEMA and <br />Cal OES approving a grant funding budget for the total requested project cost of <br />$958,594 for 2018 construction year. The total estimated project planning cost with <br />contingency and escalation cost for the 2019 construction year is $1,218,945.50. The <br />Federal share is fixed at $718,945.50; therefore, the City's share is approximately <br />$500,000.00. The City will have two years to complete the projects of which staff is <br />confident that it can be achieved; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the grant, authorize the City <br />Manager to execute for and on the behalf of the City of Redwood City to provide to the <br />California Governor's Office of Emergency Service for all matters pertaining to such <br />state disaster assistance the assurances and agreements required. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />• The City Council hereby accepts the FY18 Hazard Mitigation Grant <br />Program award of $718,945.50 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />(FEMA) and the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES); and <br />authorizes the City Manager to execute the Grant Award Agreement and related <br />contract documents. <br />• Water Fund Capital Projects revenue budget shall be increased by <br />$1,218,945.50 and <br />• Water Fund Capital Projects expenditure budget shall be increased by <br />$1,218,945.50 using fund from the Water Enterprise Fund. <br />• Fund reserves shall be transferred from Water Operations Fund by <br />$500,000 to the Water Fund Capital Projects. <br />ATTY/RESO.0114/APPROVING AN APPROPRIATION WITHIN THE RWC CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND RESO NO. 15727 <br />REV: 12-10-18 VR MUFF NO, 505 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
