The study
identified the location of these structures and grouped them together for the purpose of
establishing a historic district. Structures within this proposed historic district are some of the
last remaining examples of dwellings representing the people who built and worked for the local
industries, provided services to the community and built and maintained the government
buildings and civic facilities. Structures of significance date from the 1860's to the 1940's.
Please see the enclosed Mezesville/Centennial Proposed Historic District Map for the proposed
District boundaries within the larger study area and for identification of structures considered to
be contributing (historically significant) and non-contributing (not historically significant) within
the proposed historic district boundaries.

The HRAC will be making a recommendation to the City of Redwood City Planning Commission
that all properties located within the proposed historic district, including your property, be
designated as a City of Redwood City Historic District. The enclosed "Information for Property
Owner's" document will provide you with background information relating to the Historic
Preservation Ordinance and the effect and benefits of historic designation.

We need your support in helping preserve the historic character of this important area. With
your help, we can provide the opportunity for future generations to be able to appreciate the rich
and proud heritage of our City.

We invite you to attend an informational meeting of the Historic Resources Advisory Committee
regarding the proposed Mezesvilie/Centennial Historic District. You will have the opportunity to
ask questions in an informal setting. Sheila McElroy, Principal of Circa: Historic Property
Development, who conducted the aforementioned study, will also be part of the program. The
meeting will be held in the proposed historic district, on Tuesday, December 13, 2005, 6:30 PM,
at Orion School, 815 Allerton Street, Redwood City, in the Multi Purpose Facilities Room.

An Equal Opportunity / Equal Access Program dedicated to opening the doors of equal opportunity
to all residents and users of Redwood City programs, services and facilities.
