Mark Soulard, having lived in the Redwood Village neighborhood for 29 years,
thanked the Council for the opportunity to speak stating the concerns of traffic, safety
and air quality. He stated that Costco has been a good neighbor but that a 16 pump
gas station is unacceptable to the neighborhood association. As stewards of the
community, City Council is being advised that the residents are deeply troubled by
these changes although not opposed to the expansion itself. He asked that the quality
of life, health and safety of the neighborhood residents and school children not be
sacrificed. He presented a petition that the neighborhood association circulated in
August and October 2005 containing 750 signatures that represents a cross-section of
Redwood City. The supporters in the audience stood to show the representation.
6.1 Section - Motions -
A.
