This
memo takes the information from the Council priority setting session notes
and distills it into a format to provide to the community and staff.
The criteria used to select the specific information included: items receiving 4
Council votes for the item as a priority; items that received 4 check marks
which were described as things the City should be doing as a regular course
of business; and items with 3 check marks because they were all activities
that the Council and staff were already doing. These included disaster
preparedness, anti-gang activities, traffic mitigation, and historic preservation
- identity.
As staff has already begun to make recommendations for capital projects
based upon our priorities, it is important that they have the most complete
information for their planning. Please note that items with budget implications
will be discussed within the budget process. Unless there is a need for
further discussion regarding this, I will direct the City Manager to have this
information put on the website and shared with the staff.
I.
