Section 70 omitted to allow for amendments. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />Section 71. GENERAL LAWS APPLICABLE: <br />All gGeneral lLaws of the sState applicable to municipal corporations, including those relating to <br />"municipal affairs," now or hereafter enacted, and which are not in conflict with the provisions <br />of this eCharter or with ordinances or resolutions hereafter enacted -i shall be applicable to the <br />eCity. <br />Section 72. DEFINITIONS: <br />Whenever in this eCharter the word "City" occurs, it means Redwood City; and every department, <br />board or officer; whenever either is mentioned, means a department, board or officer, as the case <br />may be, of Redwood City. Whenever in this eCharter, the word "State" occurs, it means the State <br />of California. OFFICE VACATED: <br />If any officer of the eCity shall remove from the I or be absent himsel€ therefrom for more <br />than 3o days consecutively without the per -mission of the eCouncil, or if he gn shall fail to <br />qualify by taking the oath of office and filing his their official bond, whenever such bond is <br />required, within 15 days from the time his their certificate of election or appointment is mailed or <br />delivered to him them, or if he thgy shall resign, or if he they shall be convicted of felony, or if he <br />Lhey shall be adjudged insane, or if he they shall cease to discharge the duties of his their office <br />(other than that of member of the eCouncil) for two consecutive months, unless prevented by <br />sickness, his their office shall be vacant. <br />Section 74: STREETS AND OTHER PUBLIC IMPROVENMENTS UNDER GENERAL <br />LAWS: <br />The improvement, widening, extending, opening and closing of streets or rights of way owned by <br />said eCity or in which said City has an easement, whether within or without the limits thereof, <br />and the planting of trees thereon, and the making of any other improvements authorized by the <br />laws of the State may be done and assessments therefor may be levied in conformity with and <br />ATTY/CHARTER AMENDMENTS/2018/2018 FINAL CHARTER AMENDMENTS <br />REV: 07-18-18 VR <br />Page 37 of 45 <br />
