Regulation of Wireless Facilities in the Public Rights -of -Way <br />This report recommends adoption of an urgency ordinance to provide <br />standards and regulations relating to the permitting, placement, design, <br />construction, and maintenance of wireless facilities within the City's public <br />rights-of-way (ROW)(305) Ordinance 2453 and Reso 15725 <br />Recommendation: <br />1) Waive Reading and Adopt an Urgency Ordinance to Add Article VIII, "Wireless <br />Facilities in Public Rights -of -Way," to Chapter 29 of the Municipal Code; <br />2) Waive First Reading and Introduce an Ordinance to Add Article VIII, "Wireless <br />Facilities in Public Rights -of -Way," to Chapter 29 of the Municipal Code; <br />3) Adopt a Resolution Establishing Aesthetic Standards for Wireless Facilities in <br />the Public Rights -of -Way; and <br />4) Direct staff and the Architectural Advisory Board to review the effect of the <br />Aesthetic Standards for Wireless Facilities over the course of 2019 and to return <br />to the City Council in 2020 with any recommended modifications as may be <br />appropriate. <br />CEQA: <br />This is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />6.1.
