6.B. - Page 2 of 7
plans, notices of action, and notices of decision which are essential to demonstrating buildings are
compliant with City and State codes, and documenting the process by which individual private
developments were approved. The amendment increases the amount the City is authorized to pay by
$54,318.21, which is also a figure that can accommodate the additional services for Community
Development and the continuation of Laserfiche support services. City Council authorization is required
to approve the contract, since the new aggregate amount ($70,000) exceeds the City Manager's spending
limit.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for the Laserfiche maintenance and support service costs for Fiscal Year 2019-20 will be allocated
and budgeted across departments as part of the City's overall data and technology management services.
The scanning services for the Community Development Department are budgeted for FY 2018-19 and will
be budgeted for FY 2019-20. These costs are for private developments and are offset by permit fees, which
were derived using labor costs, administrative overhead, and supplies and services costs.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public Notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
The Council may direct staff to separately bid for scanning services for the Community Development
Department.
ATTACHMENTS
Attachment A: Amendment to the Agreement for Professional Services with ECS Imaging, Inc.
REPORT PREPARED BY:
Christopher Dacumos, Management Analyst II
cdacumos@redwoodcity.org
650.780.5957
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
58
