So I am asking you to please <br />consider my opposition to the new proposal regarding the proposed Harbor View Project. <br />We were pleased that the Council heard the many objections by Redwood City residents to Cargill's Salt Pond <br />development that was proposed 2009--2012. I joined numerous residents in speaking against the proposal for <br />many reasons. My major concern was the geographical danger in which any residents and businesses would be <br />placed with any kind of development in Bayland. Having worked my career with the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency in DC, I traveled to major disasters at times to see how my regulations, policies, and <br />procedures were implemented in the field. Several of my site visits were here in California for earthquakes, <br />including the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake that was centered near Los Altos. I would hate to have the next <br />(and overdue) earthquake damage any additional structures and --God forbid! --kill residents who are permitted <br />to live on unconsolidated Bay soil.
