Having worked my career with the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency in DC, I traveled to major disasters at times to see how my regulations, policies, and <br />procedures were implemented in the field. Several of my site visits were here in California for earthquakes, <br />including the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake that was centered near Los Altos. I would hate to have the next <br />(and overdue) earthquake damage any additional structures and --God forbid! --kill residents who are permitted <br />to live on unconsolidated Bay soil.
