This Harbor View project will bring thousands of cars through an already messy intersection (that will get
worse when its upgrade construction begins). Far worse, this office complex has no easy connection to public
transit, to alternative modes of transportation (e.g. bike or pedestrian paths), nor to Redwood City's
downtown and community. The developer will offer mitigations for these complaints, but they simply canno4
change the position of the parcel and Us101. Thus, these thousands of commuters will drive in on weekday
mornings and out in late afternoon or evening, isolated from our community. I fail to see how these project
benefits the community of Redwood City at all.
Moreover, changing the light industrial zoning in this area also harm our city. Our community needs to hold
on to small manufacturing, providers of supplies and similar organizations. My son wants to be able to
purchase the supplies for his Eagle project in Redwood City, not some other city. We cannot allow
developers to purchase these light -industrial -zoned parcels cheaply, only to petition for changes that benefit
their financial dramatically and do not benefit Redwood City residents to the same extent.
Please reject this project and the requested zoning variance.
Thank you,
Rebecca Ratcliff
Redwood City resident and volunteer
